Top Ten Tuesday: Books to Read in One Day

April 3rd, 2012 by Debbie's World of Books

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about books to read in one day. So it’s basically a list of books that had me so on the edge of my seat reading them that I shushed everyone who dared interrupt me 🙂

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish

1. The Hunger Games  by Suzanne Collins: this one is sort of a no-brainer.  It was such an awesome book and I had to know what happened.

2. Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins: OMG, I loved this book and I am not normally a fan of angel-ish books other than Cynthia Hand’s series.  It was so good and I was so invested in what would happen to Anna that I did not want to stop reading.

3. The Eight by Katherine Neville: the mystery, history, puzzles and the romance of this book had me enthralled despite the fact that it was an assigned reading for my modern european history class.  It was a bit long so thank goodness I came across it before I had kids so I could just sit and read it through.

4. If I Stay  by Gayle Forman: this book was such a tear jerker and absolutely amazing.  I literally read it in one sitting because it grabs you that much.

5. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins: it took awhile before I found a series I loved as much as the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead but this book blew me away and I was instantly in love.

6. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: as mentioned above Vampire Academy is one of my all time favorite series that seriously needs uninterrupted time to read through.

7. Harry Potter (any and all): this was another one of those series that I eagerly anticipated each book and would stay up to all hours to finish it up.

8. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card: if you have not read this one yet clear your schedule and pick it up now!  Even if you aren’t big into science fiction it is an amazing read.

9. Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer: you need to be left alone to read this book because you will be on the edge of your seat wanting to know who survives and who doesn’t.

10. The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson: this one evoked similar emotions in me that If I Stay did and really to truly appreciate it you should read it in one sitting.

Great list! I’ve seen If I Stay on a number of Top Tens. I’ll have to check it out. Here’s my Top Ten. Would love for you to stop by.
