Pint It and Do It Challenge

Some of you may already know how big a fan I am of Pinterest (if you won’t know what Pinterest is you have to go check it out!)  When I saw Trish was hosting a Pin It and Do It Challenge I knew I would have to sign up.  Here are some of the details from her blog:

Pin It and Do It: A Pinteresting Challenge

The Details:
1. To participate you will choose your level and then make (or do) that amount of pins during May 2012. Challenge ends May 31st. (can be new pins or old pins…doesn’t matter)
2. Report back on your Pin It and Do It success. Ideally this will come in the form of a blog or tumblr post. Or you can post about it on Facebook or Flickr if you don’t have a blog or tumblr. Or create a board on Pinterest for this challenge. If none of the above, report your success in the Wrap-Up Post comments.
3. Anyone is welcome to join. If you need an invite to Pinterest, let me know your email address and I’ll send an invite.

The Levels:
Timid Pinner: 1-3 Pins
Pinterested: 4-7 Pins
Pin Obsessed: 8+ Pins

…Go to Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity for the full details.

I’ve been on a mission to try as many of my pins as possible so I am aiming for the Pin Obsessed level.  You can view my boards here.  I have already tried out a bunch so I’m going to have to start choosing my next targets.  If you are in search of some great pins here are some of the ones I’ve tried already:

Successes

Quick way to get room temperature butter  Get room temperature butter  This worked perfectly for me! So glad to know the trick now.
Curling fabric ribbon  Curling ribbon  I was surprised how well this worked. Check out the hair clips I made using this pin.
Cleaning soap scum  Getting rid of soap scum  I’ve been trying to get the built up soap scum off my shower glass doors since we moved into this house. I was amazed how well this worked.
Cleaning strawberries  Cleaning strawberries  I thought the salt would ruin the taste but it didn’t. You care barely taste any salt and the hint of it just makes the strawberries taste sweeter.
Cleaning toys in the dish washer  Cleaning toys in the dish washer  I can’t believe this never occurred to me before. It worked great!
Egg drop soup  Egg drop soup  I added a bit more water since it was rather salty and everyone in my house loved it.
Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Deep dish pizza  OMG, I love this pizza recipe! I even made extra dough to store in the freezer.

Pinterest Kids Activities

Pinterest actually is one of the reasons  why I started my second blog dedicated to things for the kids.  You can check out Adventures of the Non-Creative Mom to find out more info.

Thanks for this! I’ve been hesitating to sign up for this challenge due to a busy May, but I’m going to because washing strawberries in salt water will be one of my pins!

I’m so glad you’re joining! You were actually one of the first people I thought of when I posted the challenge since I know you’re great about actually DOING the things you pin.

interesting about the glass cleaner! We use vinegar and sometimes rubbing alcohol–not sure which order as I usually make hub do this since he’s the one who refuses to squeegie. 😉

And I’m going to try that Chicago Deep Dish–think it might also work with my springform challenge!

lol. I recently got a squeegie to help keep the soap scum down now.

Definitely try the Chicago deep dish pizza! So yummy.
