Through the Ever Night Blog Tour & Giveaway: Musical Inspiration & Aria’s Talent
I am so excited to have Veronica Rossi as a guest blogger here today. If you haven’t read her first book, Under the Never Sky, you should go out and do so right now! I finished up Through the Ever Night a few weeks ago and can honestly say I loved it even more than Under the Never Sky.
Music has played a large part in Aria’s life so Veronica is here today to sum up Aria’s journey so far through music.
There have been so many songs that have inspired me over the course of writing the trilogy. Each of the books have playlists, and they’re extensive and diverse. I listen to everything from soundtracks to rock songs. You name it, it’s probably on my playlists.
There is one song, though, that’s inspired me from the very early stages of drafting UNDER THE NEVER SKY, and it continues to inspire me as I revise INTO THE STILL BLUE. You might say it’s the anthem for the trilogy – for Perry and Aria’s journey. It’s Shine, by David Gray. I think it really captures this epic migration that these characters are trying to make, away from the harshness of the Aether, to a place where they can shine
Don’t be hiding in sorrow
Or clinging to the past
With your beauty so precious
And the season so fast
No matter how cold the horizon appear
Or how far the first night
When I held you near
You gotta rise from these ashes
Like a bird of flame
Step out of the shadow
We’ve gotta go where we can shine
For all that we struggle
For all we pretend
It don’t come down to nothing
Except love in the end
And ours is a road
That is strewn with goodbyes
But as it unfolds
As it all unwinds
Remember your soul is the one thing
You can’t compromise
Take my hand
We’re gonna go where we can shine
What’s the best and worst part of being able to hear so well and would Aria ever give it up for a different ability?
For Aria, the hardest part of being an Aud with exceptional hearing definitely occurs in THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT, when she first arrives at Perry’s tribe, the Tides. When that happens, she is suddenly the outsider. She doesn’t fit in, and the reception she gets from Perry’s people is sadly quite harsh. Aria hears everything they say about her. All the gossip and harsh words they whisper to each other go right to her ears.
That said, I don’t think she would trade her Sense for another. She’s a singer. Sounds are, and have always been, her domain!
Thanks again Veronica for stopping by and sharing with us your musical inspiration for such an awesome series!
Through the Ever Night is available now!
Book Blurb:
It’s been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don’t take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe’s precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.
Threatened by false friends, hidden enemies, and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?
In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and dystopian elements to create a captivating love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

I would probably want to live in the Realms if I could remain ignorant of what exists outside.
