Waiting on Wednesday: Requiem by Lauren Oliver
“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick for this week is Requiem by Lauren Oliver which is due out March 5, 2013.
I loved Delirium and purposely held off on reading Pandemonium because I heard it ended on a cliffhanger and I didn’t want to have to wait to find out what happens. So now I can read them back to back. ![]()
Summary from Goodreads.com: Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.
After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.

That was smart to wait! I’ve only read Delirium with mixed feelings so I haven’t decided if I’ll want to go on with the series. I will wait until Requiem is released to decide.

I’m actually not crazy about reading this one, because I HATE the love triangle. But I will read all of the spoilers lol. Hope you enjoy it whenyou get the chance to read it!

Kim-it’s been so long since I read Delirium. I think it did take awhile to get into. Have you read Matched by Ally Condie? One trend I noticed it people who loved Matched never seemed to get into Delirium and those who loved Delirium didn’t care as much for Matched.
