About the book:  Angel Whittaker earned his scars the hard way, but the scars that can’t be seen are the ones that haunt him the most. Since he moved to Fool’s Gold, California, he’s cobbled together a life for himself as a bodyguard trainer. If he’s not exactly happy, at least his heart is safe.

Working with pro-football superstars taught tough-talking PR woman Taryn Crawford one thing—she can go toe to toe with any man. But then dark, dangerous former Special Ops Angel targets her for seduction…and challenges her to resist his tempting kisses.

Even in four-inch heels, Taryn never backs down. Unless, somehow, Angel can convince her that surrender might feel even better than victory.

I cannot even put into words how much I love this series. Granted as in any series some were better than others but I think this one ranks near the top for me. I didn’t have many expectations coming in since Angel was never one of the characters who intrigued me as much. I did want to see what kind of man would bring Taryn to her knees because when I saw Taryn in Before We Kiss (yes I know I read them out of order) I couldn’t believe this was the same woman we saw in earlier books.

I thought Angel and Taryn complemented each other perfectly and I loved every scene they were in together. I also fell in love with Angel myself watching him rising to the challenge of leading his Acorns full of little girls. There was also one scene that has me itching to get my hands on Kenny’s story and I loved seeing more of Consuelo after her engagement to Kent.

I honestly can’t think of anything I didn’t enjoy in this story.

Oh yes! I loved watching him with his Acorns. That was just. Totally swoon-worthy for me. I’ve been so bad about reading out of order. I kind of just pop in and out of the series when a book lands in my hands lol. So glad to see you enjoyed them too!

Anna-I’m the same way with this series. I only discovered it last year and have been reading them as I find them at the library, on Netgalley and at our only book store which happens to be a used book store. So it’s hit or miss what I find.
