What is it about Barack Obama?

August 25th, 2008 by Debbie's World of Books

I keep reading about how charismatic Obama is and I was amazed that he ended up being the Democratic candidate.  Granted Clinton got too cocky and brought some of her troubles on herself.  The thing I don’t get is why do people find Obama so charismatic?  He actually kind of creeps me out and although I can’t put my finger on why but I don’t trust him.  I wasn’t the only one.  I talked to some co-workers and they said they felt the same way.  It was pretty much a gut reaction.  So it makes it tough when it comes to the presidential election.  I feel McCain is actually more likeable but Obama is closer to Hilary on more issues so I really should vote for Obama.  It just so irks me to have to vote for him.  I also worry if he has the experience to handle making the decisions a president needs to make.  Granted as long as he surrounds himself with people who know what is going on and listens to them it hopefully won’t be too bad.  It seems like he’s being hypocritical having campaigned about change and not being old school and yet he chose Biden as his VP candidate.  How much more old school can you get?

i totaly agree. there is “something” about barak obama that…well just doesn’t sit right with me.

and yes he has campaigned alot about change, however i am still uncertain on what exactly he is interested in changing.

The whole “change” campaign on both sides irk me. Unless there is an entire over haul of how our system works and we throw pretty much every senator and congressman out on their butts you can’t change much. The way things work is so convoluted that we’re pretty much stuck with it. I think both candidates realize that but they feel by saying they are for change people will vote for them.
