Books I'm waiting for

October 16th, 2008 by Debbie's World of Books

Between studying and reading my books from the library I haven’t had a chance to actually make it into a book store lately so Julia Quinn’s new book, Mr. Cavendesh, I Presume, has come out but I haven’t had a chance to buy it yet.  http://www.juliaquinn.com/.  I hope it’s good as I didn’t care for The Lost Duke of Wyndham very much.

I already wrote a separate post about Christine Feehan’s, Murder Game, coming out at the end of December.  It’s the next book in the Ghostwalker series.

Julie Garwood’s, Fire and Ice, is due out in December as well. http://www.juliegarwood.com/.  I’m a little bummed as it is still a contemporary novel that follows up on Sophie Rose from Murder List.  I hope she will return to the historical novels soon.  According to Random House’s website this will be on sale Dec. 30.

Johanna Lindsey’s most recent book is already out but in hardback so I haven’t read it yet. http://www.simonsays.com/content/book.cfm?tab=1&pid=617965&er=9781416537328.  It’s called No Choice But Seduction and it’s another Mallory novel!  Yay!  I love the Mallory series and this one is about Boyd Anderson.  I may actually have to request this one from the library instead of waiting for the paper back.

Nooo, torture.  I just read that Matthew Reilly finished the sequel to The Six Sacred Stones and it is going to be called The Five Greatest Warriors.  The bad news? http://www.matthewreilly.com/reillyblog/08-10.htm.  It’s not scheduled to be released in the US until 2010!  It will be released in Australia in late 2009 but still so far away.  Sigh.  It just wasn’t right to leave us hanging like he did at the end of Six Sacred Stones and then take so long for the next book.

Cemetary Dance is Douglas Preston’s and Lincoln Child’s next joint book and is due out next summer according to their website. http://www.prestonchild.com/index.html.  I have to admit I’m not as excited since Agent Pendergast is getting old for me.  I guess I’ll have to read it though to see how he recovers from Wheel of Darkness.

City of Glass, the third book in the Mortal Instruments series from Cassandra Clare is due out in March 2009. http://www.cassandraclare.com/.

The Darkest Whisper is the fourth book in the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. http://members.cox.net/genashowalter/upcoming.htm.  It’s due out in May 2009 and is going to be about Sabin the keeper of doubt.

Darn, The Last Oracle is the latest James Rollins books and so far no news about the next one.

Of course I already posted my disappointment that currently Stephenie Meyer has no plans on releasing Midnight Sun after the first 12 chapters were leaked out.  I really hope she reconsiders.

Whew, I think that’s it for the authors I love to read.  Sigh.  Looks like there will be a long wait til 2009.  Guess I’ll have to find new authors to read.
