How can it take day's for a package to go from Richmond, CA to San Fran? I want my Kindle!

October 30th, 2008 by Debbie's World of Books

Since Amazon was offering the $50 “oprah” discount on the Kindle I decided it could be my early Christmas gift to myself since it put it almost on par with the prices I’ve seen for the Sony ebook reader.  Ok, I chose the super saver shipping to save a few bucks since the Kindle cost so much.  I was super excited when I got the email yesterday that it had shipped and from Richmond, CA.  Now according to Yahoo maps Richmond is about 25 minutes away from San Francisco.  So I figured woo hoo I’ll get it sooner than expected.  Yet, it is still showing today that it left the shipping facility and that’s it.  Come on!  I’d drive over to Richmond to pick up the darn thing.  Is the package going to detour through Oakland or Berekely or some other crazy destination?  Grrr.

hehehe, I know how you feel. When it gets there depends on how it’s traveling. If it’s UPS or Fedex, it may well sit in a warehouse till the date it’s due to you. I had this problem with my auntie’s birthday present. (I got her a GPS unit for her car) I ordered it 1.5 weeks in advance, plenty of time to get there, but it sat on the island for 4 days and wound up being a day late ;( That was my “super shipping” fun this month.

Oh well. Guess I’ll just have to wait.
