Books I have to check out

December 7th, 2008 by Debbie's World of Books

As if my to be read pile on Shelfari and the pile of books I picked up at a library book sale wasn’t enough.  Since I’ve been on my blog hopping spree I’ve been coming across books that I need to check out but started losing track.  So I decided to start making a list of the books I came across in blogs that I want to take a closer look at:

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

Bone Crossed (at least check out the series) by Patricia Briggs

Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips- See my review here

Dewey: The Small-Town Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron

Friday Night Knitting Club- -Received and added to my TBR pile

Omnivore’s Dilemma

Midwife of the Blue Ridge by Christine Blevins (found at Reading Room)

The Opposite of Invisible by Liz Gallagher (found at Sassy Monkey Reads)

Cracked Up To Be by Courtney Summers (found at Sharon Loves Books and Cats)

Cassandra Palmer series by Karen Chance (found at Stephanie’s Confessions of a Book-a-holic)

The Nazi Officer’s Wife by Edith Hahn Beer (found at Thoughts of Joy)– received and added to my TBR pile

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (found from my book club on babycenter)- got over the holiday and really enjoyed it.  See my review here.

Yorkshire by Lynne Connolly (found at Dear Author)

Inkheart and Thief Lord (recommended by a friend)– received and added to my TBR pile

Thou Shalt Not Whine by January Jones-ARC (found on Book Blogs)

Flirting with Forty by Jane Porter(I’ve actually seen this one in several places and it sounds really interesting– received and added to my TBR pile.  See my review here.

Mrs. Perfect by Jane Porter(found this one visiting Porter’s website)

Bookends by Jane Green(saw this one in the book store and it sounded interesting)

The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler (found at Pop Culture Junkie)

Miles From Nowhere by Nami Mun (found at Pop Culture Junkie)

Veil of Midnight by Lara Adrian-or at least check out the series.  This one didn’t get a great review but people seem to love the rest of the series.  (found at Dear Author)

The Darcy’s and The Bingleys by Marsha Altman (found at J. Kaye’s Book Blog)

The Seduction of the Crimson Rose by Lauren Willig (saw on Dear Author that she posted a comment that this book is out in paperback.  I enjoyed her other books so can’t wait to read this one)

Check out Jeaniene Frost books (heard about her on my babycenter book club)

Den of Shadows series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes(saw this on Good Reads)– Read book 1-Demon in My View and my review is available here.

Peeps by Scott Westerfeld (heard about this from J. Kaye)

A Kiss of Ashen Twilight by Rae Lori (saw this from Rae Lori’s newsletter)

I have the Nazi Officer’s Wife on my list also because of Joy’s review!

    LOL. I hope it’s good!

I’ve got a few of those on my TBR pile too. So many books, so few Edwards. Sigh. Oh, if you like Jane Green, check out Jemima J. It’s really good.

Haha…I know I keep looking for another Edward. Jace from Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments is like Edward with an attitude.

I have so many of those on my list too! I have a little notebook now to keep them in. I’ll never come close to reading them all. *sigh* I’ll keep adding to that list though!

At least ones I find online I can add here but when I got to Borders I’m always looking for scraps of paper to write books down on. I really should keep a notebook with me.

I have way too many books on my TBR pile. It’s not even a pile any more. It’s a mountain! Anyway, I signed up for Ban On Spending Challenge, so sadly I will not be buying any books for quite some time.

I know what you mean. These books don’t even cover the about 40 or so books I have at home to read.

Hello! you’ve won a copy of Gods Behaving Badly at Savvy Verse & Wit. Please email me your snail mail address so I can get you the book.

I highly recommend Outliers. Everything I’ve read from Malcolm Gladwell has been very thought provoking. My favorite of his books is The Tipping Point.

Thanks Serena! I sent an email.

Fern, I really have to get a copy to read. I am on the waiting list for our library copy.

Wow that’s an intense list. To my other question I was wondering how to do the library thing…. I think that’s what it’s called. If you’re confused just let me know and I will try to clarify…. Thank you.
