Flirting With Forty movie

February 19th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

The movie Flirting With Forty aired again on Lifetime on Valentine’s Day.  It’s based off of Jane Porter’s book which I loved (check out my review).  I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie as usually I’m left disappointed with book to movie adaptations.  A lot of little details were changed but they all still worked.  I have to admit although she did a great job, Heather Locklear is not how I was picturing Jackie.  I mean come on, I could swear in the book Jackie was supposed to have cellulite and a few extra pounds.  While Locklear played embarrassed to wear a bikini when she finally puts it on she has a flat as a washboard tummy and no cellulite.  Then she rushes home after her daughter’s accident she is wearing a t-shirt that was made for a 12 year old boy.  Ugh.  All in all though if you have a chance to watch the movie check it out.  Definitely a cute chick flick.

I saw this the first time it was on. I thought it was cute too but noticed that everyone was just a bit too perfect. I have the book but haven’t read it yet. I’m sure I will like it better. I have an award for you here!

Yeah, I liked the book better since Jackie was a bit more like a regular woman. I mean I can totally see Heather Locklear being able to pick up a young stud muffin :)
