TV Show Meme

February 20th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

I don’t usually do these but I couldn’t resist when I saw it on Just One More Page.

1. Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice-It’s a tough call between Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager.

2. Name a show you can’t miss.- Although there is a new cast each season I have watched almost every season of The Amazing Race.  amazing_race

The only one I missed was the family edition.  I started watching it and was bored out of my mind.  It just wasn’t fun when they couldn’t leave the US and of course you couldn’t get as competitive when kids were involved.

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show.

Honestly there aren’t any actors that I am really attached to that would make me have to watch a show.  There are some people like Amanda Tapping that made me more prone to watch the new show, Sanctuary, although that was more convenience sake since it was on the same night as Star Gate.  I was glad I did watch it as I ended up enjoying the show.

4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show.

bakulaScott Bakula is definitely someone that makes me less likely to watch a tv show.  I loved Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager but I avoided watching Star Trek: Enterprise because of him.  I couldn’t stand him in Quantum Leap and I thought he would ruin Enterprise.  I probably honestly can’t blame him for Enterprise lasting only 4 seasons compared to Next Gen’s and Voyager’s 7 seasons but I still do :)

5. Name a show you can, and do, quote from.

Hmmm….that’s a tough one.  I don’t think there are any tv shows I can really quote from.  Now movies!  That would have to be Clue.  I know this is for tv shows but gotta plug Clue it’s the greatest movie and believe me can I quote from it.

6. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys.

I remember really enjoying the Dark Shadows remake in 1991 but apparently not many others did as it did not make it pass season 1.  I was totally bummed out but while looking up when it originally aired I did see a link that Johnny Depp is doing a remake?!  That would be so awesome!

7. Name a TV show which you’ve been known to sing the theme song.

Honestly I don’t think I know the theme song to any tv series.  The only ones I would recognize by sound are all instrumental like ST:TNG or Survivor.

8. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch.

Amazing Race!  I know a lot of people are against reality tv shows but this one is so much fun.  You get to watch the teams race around the world, experience different cultures and watch the drama between each team and within each team.

9. Name TV series’ you own.

Star Trek: The Next Generation all seasons

Star Trek: Voyager all seasons

Charmed  seasons 1-4

Stargate SG-1 all seasons

Stargate Atlantis all but the last season

John Sheppard is hot!

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting choices in television.

Can’t really think of any at the moment.

11. What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?

I love the episode of ST: TNG when a virus re-enables the dorment pieces of everyone’s DNA so the crew starts to de-evolve into different animals from their homeworlds.

12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch, but you just haven’t gotten around to yet.

Battlestar Gallactica.  I keep hearing that it is really good but I am really bad about watching tv or movies that aren’t just on.  It usually takes my husband to pop a dvd in for me to watch it and he just isn’t interested in Battlestar Gallactica.

13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?

I watched the first couple episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and couldn’t stand it so I never went back to it.

14. Name a show that’s made you cry multiple times.

Private Practice.  Ever since I had my daughter anything with bad things happening to children always gets me.  So although I love the wackiness of Private Practice a lot of the episodes bring me to tears.  Lately it was the one where a father has to choose between letting his daughter die without him being near her or be with her but never be able to be with his 1 year old son ever again.  How can you make that kind of decision?

15. What do you eat when you watch TV?

Varies depending on what I feel like.  Usually snack on string cheese and drink a Snapple.

16. How often do you watch TV?

Before my daughter was born I was watching tv pretty much every night during prime time.  Nowadays it’s whenever I can catch up on my favorite shows.

17. What’s the last TV show you watched?

Survivor.  It was the second episode but I missed the first so still don’t know the people very well.  The bunch hasn’t really caught my attention yet.

18. What’s your favourite/preferred genre of TV?

Reality-Amazing Race, Survivor, occasionally America’s Next Top Model

Sci-Fi-Star Trek, Stargate, Sanctuary

19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?

It’s hard to remember what was on first.  I remember loving Star Trek: TNG, Growing Pains, Just The Ten of Us, Beverly Hills 90210 and the Cosby Show. Oh and Blossom!  Woah!

And I used to think Kirk Cameron was dreamy.

20. What TV show do you wish you never watched?

I honestly can’t believe I used to watch Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place.  Talk about soap operas.  I mean come on those side burns on Luke Perry and Jason Priestly?!

21. What’s the weirdest show you enjoyed?

I remember really enjoying Alf but now that I think about it, it seems really lame.

22. What TV show scared you the most?

I’m a total wuss so I don’t watch scary shows.  I remember being traumatized though when I happen to walk through the living room while my dad was watching It and that clown was standing over an open grave.  I hate clowns!

23. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?

This is hard because now I enjoy the humor in shows like Private Practice but I used to love shows like The Cosby Show, A Different World, Just The Ten of Us, etc.

24. What show was cancelled too early?

Dark Shadows!  I wish it went beyond one season.  That was a great series.

for the record Enterprise was/is the best Star trek, the others were total CRAP!!!! Enterprise and the original were the only decent ones. Never bothered with any of them except for the original and Ent!!!

  4. dsuzuki

I’ve seen a few Enterprise episodes since my husband started DVRing it and they are ok but have not really grabbed my attention.

  5. dsuzuki

Clue was a great movie :)

Oh and meow, I know there are a ton of people who love Scott Bakula and I can’t say he’s a bad actor since I haven’t seen him act enough to form an opinion. I honestly can’t put my finger on why I don’t like watching him but it’s the same deal with Hugh Grant, it’s just a gut reaction. I tend to avoid movies with him in them. Strange I know.
