Vampireville by Ellen Schreiber

February 20th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

I rate this book at a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Descriptions from Harper Collins website: For goth-girl Raven, dating her dream boyfriend is complicated, especially because Alexander’s secret means that they can see each other only at night.

And now the pair must be extra wary in the dark with Alexander’s archrival, Jagger, appearing around town. As if Jagger isn’t enough cause for worry, Luna, his strikingly pale sister, has also surfaced and seems to have her sights set on Raven’s longtime nemesis, Trevor. Together, Raven and Alexander must begin a terrifying search for Jagger and Luna’s hideout to drive them away — that is, if it’s not already too late to save Dullsville from becoming Vampireville.

In the latest installment of her popular Vampire Kisses books, Ellen Schreiber continues the startling story of two teen outsiders — she from the mortal world and he from the Underworld — who share a thrilling, extraordinary romance.

I finished this book pretty much on one train ride so it was really easy to get through.  By time it was done I was surprised because not much seemed to happen.  I think it had a lot of fluff that was unnecessary and this felt more like  a short story than a full length book.  Alexander’s and Raven’s relationship isn’t really progressing and Jagger and Luna are proving to be less of a threat than I had imagined.  The end was kind of ridiculous and this will be the last book I read in the story.  Again I have to state I don’t think there is anything wrong with the series for young adults but not much to catch the attention of an older audience.
