The Power: Book 3 of The Secret Circle by LJ Smith

March 2nd, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

This was a re-read for me and even though it’s been at least 10 years since I first read it I still give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Description from the book: In So Deadly A Battle…

United at last with Diana, the mistress of her coven, Cassie must first sacrifice her love for Adam to save the Secret Circle and the town of New Salem from the evil powers of the witch Faye.

Threatened by the possibility of her destruction in a final battle between good and evil, Cassie must hope that her supernatural gifts are strong enough to obliterate the powers of evil.

If victorious, Cassie will win more than she ever dreamed. But if she and Diana fail, the Power will go to those who seek only to destroy.

…Can Anyone Triumph?

I am glad to say this is one series that even though I read it probably over 10 years ago it was still as good as I remembered.  We have seen Cassie grow from the timid little mouse to one of the most powerful witches in the coven.  She has also managed to bridge the gap and make peace with at least some of the outsiders.  She is going to need the strength because she finds out a devastating secret in this last book.  I was happy with the way the book ended and would highly suggest this series even if you are an adult revisiting your YA years.  :)  Stop here if you don’t want any spoilers.

While I know she belongs with Adam since he is her soulmate I still had a soft spot for Nick.  Guess I just like those bad boy types and I hope he finds someone that makese him happy.
