Things That'll Go Bump on Teen Nightstands

March 13th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

Saw this article on Twitter yesterday from USA Today about a few good books if you liked Twilight. Quick overview of the books they mention:

hunted

I need to catch up on this series.  I’ve only read book 1, Marked.

cruz-revelations

I also need to get going again on this series.  I’ve only read Blue Bloods so far.

Finished this one the other day and enjoyed it.

stargazer

This one was new to me and I can’t wait to read it!

I think Stargazer is the 2nd in a series, but I could be wrong…(I think Evernight is the first book, I want to read it!)

I need to read Blue Bloods…I have the first book, but haven’t gotten to it yet!

I am such a teen. haha.

Yup, I believe it is the second book. I’m 5th on the wait list for the first book. So hopefully it won’t take too long to get. LOL. YA books rule!

I’ve heard of all of these and haven’t read a single one yet. They all sound good though. I have to get most of my books from the library or copies I receive to review so sometimes I get behind. Especially if it’s something I want to read just for “fun”. Thanks for the list!

I know what you mean. Especially for the hard back books by authors I’ve never read before I hesitate to buy them so I have to wait until my library gets them.

So if you were going to recommend just one of these to start with, which would it be?

  6. dsuzuki

All the ones I’ve read are part of a series and none of these are book 1. I would definitely start with the Vampire Academy series. Shadow Kiss above is part of that series. I loved it!

Yeah, I did not so much like the first Vampire Academy, but people have told me it gets better in the next two books.

Which I kind of don’t want to hear, because I already feel strangely compelled to read them, which I also feel is ridiculous, considering how many books I have to read that aren’t, you know, sequels to ones I didn’t like.

So your recommendation is causing a war in my brain :)

LOL. I know what you mean. I read book 1 of the Cirque Du Freak series and the Morganville Vampire series and didn’t think they were that great but people keep saying they get better. I’m torn since I have a ton of TBR books but on the other hand I didn’t like book 1 in the Sookie Stackhouse series but I really enjoyed the rest of them.
