Musing Monday April 6

April 5th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

Check out this week’s Musing Monday.

As a follow up to last week’s question, Joseph asked how you keep track of your tbr list. Do you have a paper list or on your computer? Do you take it with you when you go shopping? How do you decide what gets added to it?

I wish I had a system to keep track of my TBR list.  For books I come across while blog surfing I have a mish mash of books listed on Shelfari that I want to read, I add books to my Amazon wish list or sometimes I’ll do a blog posting of books I want to check out.  When I go to Borders I limit myself to one book that I use whatever coupon they sent for the week.  So after I find the book I want to buy I’ll walk around with whatever scrap of paper I can find in my purse and start writing down titles and authors of books that look interesting.  This sometimes mean random pieces of envelope, gift card holders, the bottom half of the coupon I printed out, etc.  Yes, it is not the greatest system and I often lose those scraps of papers which totally sucks.  I would blame my disorganization on being in a rush since my daughter was born except I was like this before she came long.

I think everyone should use whatever system works for them. The only thing I’m organized about is my books. I have my spreadsheet for my TBR and a small pocket notebook for my shopping list.

We are alike with our scraps of paper! I am getting a lot of great ideas today.
