Betrayed by P.C. & Kristin Cast

I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Description from Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night.  She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs–like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

I took a long break from this series I guess because it just did not grab me as much as the Vampire Academy series did.  I finally got book 2 in from the library and am happy I did.  This one definitely drew me in more so than Marked and I cannot wait to get book 3 to find out what happens.  Zoey was getting on my nerves a little with her flirting with Loren, being wishy washy about her relationship with Erik and then the whole imprinting thing with Heath.  I was totally bummed out over what happens to Stevie Rae but I’m still holding out hope for a happy ending there.  If you have not read past book 1 in this series I would suggest getting back into it as the story is really starting to pick up.

I have this book out from the library right now. I will be interested to see what I think of it in comparison with Marked which I only just read last month!

I hope you like it! I need to get book 3 now although I heard the series isn’t done yet so I’m in no rush. I get impatient waiting for the new books to get published.
