Book I Own and Need to Read

May 15th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

So there have been several posts lately asking if you are a book glutton and how many books are in your TBR pile. I have stacks of books all over the house and I’ll admit sometimes I forget I own a book and when I go to the Friends of the Library book sale I pick up a book again.  So I know  in Shelfari, GoodReads, etc. you can list the books you have TBR but I’m listing here the books I actually own and need to read.  It’s kind of crazy but as of today I have 106 books.  Ouch!  I didn’t realize it was that bad.  And I still have a long list of books I want to read but don’t have yet.

I keep telling myself that I am going to catalog all of the books in my TBR pile… but there are too many and it would take forever. But, it’s just too easy to forget what you already have.

I know. I kept putting it off and finally just made myself do it. Hoping that now I know just how crazy my pile is I’ll be better about not buying too many new books.

The link in your post doesn’t work, but the link in your header does. Just thought I should mention!

You have a lot of good books to read! I know how hard it can be to actually do so, though… And, like me, even though you have all those books to read, you still go to the library! Go us! lol

Yay! Your list makes me feel less bad about the dozen or so collecting dust in my TBR piles. Trouble is that I refuse to count the unread books on my Kindle as they’re likely well in excess of that (especially if you count the book samples that I liked and left on the device to remind me to buy the book). Oh well.

Thanks Kailana! I fixed the link. I was doing some cutting and pasting. LOL. I know with all the new books coming out all the time and me trying to limit my buying means a lot more library visits.

Jenn-the Kindle is dangerous since it just takes one click to buy things. I plan on tackling my TBR but don’t own list next. I have it scattered across my Amazon wishlist, librarything, my blog and shelfari (not to mention a couple scraps of papers here and there of books I saw when browsing at Borders).
