I have no idea why I enjoyed “Rape: A Love Story” by Joyce Carol Oates so much. Yes I do. I think the author was flat out clever. I think that John Dromoor had psychopathic tendencies that he used to eliminate the bad guys. The author didn’t come out and say this, but he wasn’t right int he head. He was a killer and found a way to do just that. I wish justice could be served in just such a way sometimes. As you said, this goes on more than than we realize and a good lawyer can get the bad guys off.

I think Oates’ book is just one of those that grabs you or not. Like I can see why people would think it’s a good book but it just did not fit my tastes. I agree sometimes it would be nice to have justice for those kind of things people get off because of technicalities.
