Description: Father Daniel journeys deep into the harsh forest, with romantic notions of converting the fierce Oquanato cannibals to Christianity, but his heroic sense of mission clashes with the farcical antics of sophisticated savages, whose beliefs originate from a peculiar source—a source that rattles Daniel into an introspection, yet dubious narrative.

I finished this book the other day but I had a hard time thinking of what to write.  I have to say I did not really enjoy the book but that might just be because it is definitely not my type of book.  I almost felt like I was reading a script to a movie like Dumb and Dumber and I normally don’t like those movies.  The writing style was confusing at times as the point of view would sometimes change randomly from chapter to chapter and from past to present without any real transition or clue.

There were points that were funny and a few areas that make you really re-think what does it really mean to be civilized.  Some of the chapters will make you chuckle out loud and shake your head over the antics of the characters.  The writing style is definitely original and would probably appeal to people who enjoy this style of humor.
