Anastasia’s Secret by Susanne Dunlop

Due out March 2010

From the Author’s website:
The youngest grand duchess in the Russian imperial family comes of age during the revolution. Her family is imprisoned, conditions become worse and worse. But Anastasia has a secret that she keeps from her family, a love that endures through the horrors of war and the privation of imprisonment and deprivation. Will her love save her from the fate her family seems destined for? Or is she a creation of a rarefied atmosphere, unable to survive without her loved ones?

This book looks interesting! The Russian Tsar family has always fascinated me. I liked to think that the rumors about Anastasia surviving the murder of her family were true but sadly scientist discovered that she didn’t(in March this year if I remember correctly).

Ladybug-I didn’t hear about the confirmation. That’s really sad that an entire family was wiped out like that. I loved the aura of mystery around Anastasia.

  5. Mary

That’s news to me too! I’ve always been curious about the whole mystery.

Oh yet another book about Anastasia! I definitely have to read this one too :) I’ve always been fascinated by the Romanov family. Heck, as a child..ok, who am I kidding..even favorite animated movie is Anastasia, lol. Thanks for posting about this.

Seems like Anastasia is the thing right now. :) I wish when I took Russian History we had spent more time on it but I guess that was more speculation than history. LOL.

I’ve always had a facination with the Romanov family as well. This one sounds great! And yes the last two bodies found were confirmed to be Alexie and they think Maria. Scientists think Anastasia was with the rest of the family found in 1991.

That sounds like a really interesting book!
I didn’t know they had confirmed that. That’s very sad.
