Waiting on Wednesday September 23

September 22nd, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. Mosey on over and see what other people are waiting for.  This week’s pick for me is The Mark by Jen Nadol.  It’s not due out until January 2010!  Love the cover.

Description from GoodReads: Sixteen-year old Cassie Renfield has seen the mark since forever: a glow around certain people as if a candle were held behind their back.

The one time she pointed it out taught her she shouldn’t do it again, so Cassie has kept quiet, considering its rare appearances odd, but insignificant. Until she watches a man die. Mining her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person’s imminent death. Not how or where, only when: today.

Cassie searches her past, her philosophy lessons, even her new boyfriend for answers, always careful to keep her secret. How does the mark work? Why her? Most importantly, if you know today is someone’s last, should you tell?

I’ve been waffling on this one for some reason. I keep seeing it floating around in posts and continue to be intrigued by it but I can’t quite commit to putting it on my list. Maybe I’ll wait until your review to deterimine 100%.

This was my WoW pick a week or two ago. It sounds really unique, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Plus, I really like the new cover. Great pick!

Great choice, Deb!! I just read The Mark last week and it was FABULOUS. I’ve been dying to read it ever since the deal was announced because it’s such an amazing premise. If you knew it was someone’s last day, would you tell? Should you? I couldn’t stop thinking about it even after the book was done. LOVED it!
