Vampire Academy International Covers-Which Do You Prefer?

September 26th, 2009 by Debbie's World of Books

If you have been following me for awhile you know Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead is one of my favorite series.  I recently stumbled across a couple non-US covers of Vampire Academy and it made me curious what other covers I could find.  I wish I could find larger versions of the last three but I think I would have to go with the German cover.  Which one is your favorite?

I think I’d go with the German one, too, although I haven’t read the book so it’s purely based on visual preference!

  2. Trisha

    I like the US.

  3. Kailana

Frankly, none of the covers really call to me…

I know, none of them were great but of them all the German one was the best to me. For the US covers I disliked them so much I didn’t pick up the books until I saw them mentioned on a blog.

I do like the German or the US one. The Turkish wouldn’t be that bad if the models weren’t so creepy…

I actually like the Swedish cover the best. It’s really creepy. I’m not a big fan of the US or German versions of the covers.

For some reason the Swedish one reminds me of the House of Night books. Maybe it’s because of the design that look like tatoos.

I like the Swedish cover!! I’m not a fan of the US one!

I haven’t read this series yet but I would definitely have to agree with you on the German cover! I do not find the US one attractive. I tend to judge books by their cover and had the books not come highly recommended, they wouldn’t even be on my TBR list based on this cover.

Thanks for taking the time to research these different covers. I guess I get so single minded that I forget there are other versions out there!

I forget too that other countries may have their own covers. I wish I knew of an easy way to search these out. I’m curious about some of my other favorite books.

I agree with Kailana, but if I have to chose I’m going for the Brazilian one. I want to imagine how the characters looks myself, so I’m not to keen on people on the covers..

That German cover is dramatic and captivating.

I like the German one. I think the US is 2nd, but I don’t like the rest much at all
