Bloggiesta Wrap Up

January 10th, 2010 by Debbie's World of Books

Night 1= 2 hrs

Night 2=2.5 hrs

Night 3=2 hrs

Total=6.5 hrs

I wish I could have spent more time but I am beat so I will have to call it a night.  Sadly I didn’t get to spend as much time as I did during the last Bloggiesta but at least I did some work that I’ve had on my to-do list for ages.  Thanks again to Natasha at Maw Books for hosting this.

What I finished:

  • Wrote my review of Courage Mountain: The Further Adventures of Heidi by Fred Brogger
  • Wrote my review of Kitty’s House of Horrors by Carrie Vaughn
  • Wrote my review of The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist
  • Wrote my review of Numbers by Rachel Ward
  • Wrote my review of Black Rain by Graham Brown
  • Went through almost 300 book reviews and tagged and categorized them based on the number of stars I rated them.  I added links to my 2, 3, 4 and 5 star books to my sidebar.  Luckily so far I haven’t read any 1 star books.
  • Clean up my side bar
    • Removed 2009 challenges links
    • Updated my blogroll
  • I commented on over 40 Bloggiesta posts from other blogs
  • Finally picked, notified and heard back from my 3 Holiday Celebration Giveaway
  • Linked up missing book reviews from my 2009 Books Read page
  • Mini Challenges Completed
    • Rebecca from The Book Lady’s Blog – 2010 Resolutions.  You know you got them!
    • Jackie from Farm Lane Books – Do not lose it all!  How to back up your blog.
    • Karin from Karin’s Book Nook – There is nothing worse than landing on 404 error pages.  It’s time to go on a dead link hunt!
    • Pam from MotherReader –  Blogging is about community, so check out this Comment Challenge (watch for a Mr. Linky to be up on Saturday for you to complete this challenge). – Signed up and started commenting
    • Jenn from Jenn’s Bookshelves – Got nothing to say (not likely – that’s why you’re blogging in the first place!) but here is an opportunity to brainstorm blogging topics.-I didn’t exactly do it the way it was laid out but I did get a couple more ideas of blog posts I want to write.

What I didn’t get to but hope to work on soon:

  • Write latest summary post for my Revisit Your Childhood Favorites Challenge to showcase the latest reviews.
  • I’ve been vaguely tossing around the idea of a weekly meme around clearing off my TBR shelves. So I want to think that through and hopefully put together the first post.
  • I’ve been neglecting my Who Would You Pick showdown between some of my favorite male book characters so I need to get back to it.
  • Clean up my side bar
    • Add my 2010 challenges link
  • Update or get rid of my upcoming books and events page
  • Write and schedule at least 2 future Book Blogger Discoveries posts
  • Write up at least 2 Waiting on Wednesday posts
  • I still have a couple author spot light posts I wanted to write that I didn’t get through over the holidays
  • I also recently started My TV Addiction blog and I am behind on several tv episode write ups I wanted to do
  • Participate in the Bloggiesta mini-challenges

Congratulations on all the work you got done! It felt good, didn’t it?

I really like the copyright statement on the bottom of your post (in my feed reader). How did you actually register the copyright? That’s the step I haven’t done. Also, how did you get the copyright symbol (c in a circle)? Thanks!

  2. Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit)

    You did great!

  3. The Kool-Aid Mom

I’ve got a longer to-do list now than I did at the starting line, lol… I think it was a great event, though, and very helpful. Not to mention now I have new blogs (like this one ;-) )to read and more friends, which is always a bonus :-D

You got a lot done. Great job :-)

Wow, you were busy. I had many interruptions, so I didn’t get as much done as you did. But at least I gained something form participating in the weekend.

Helen-I just used the Angsuman’s Copyright plugin that was linked off of Pam’s mini challenge page and it puts it all together for you.
    Thanks Serena!
Kool-Aid Mom-I know what you mean! So many more things I want to do now :)

My, you did a LOT! I’m jealous of all the reviews you wrote; I only got to do 1… But it was an important one, so I feel accomplished anyway ;) We had fun, didn’t we? I hope to get some more work done in the near future too. But now I’m off to look at your TV blog — sounds cool! We’re halfway Dexter 3 with friends and will start watching Lost next Friday with my cousin and his wife; I hope I’ll like it? :\

You finished a lot in a short amount of time. Great job! I still have several items on my to do list as well, as do several other Bloggiesta participants I’ve visited today, so you’re not alone! Wasn’t Bloggiesta a blast? :-)

For 6.5 hours you definitely accomplished an insane-o amount of work! I don’t think I even did that much during bloggiesta.

    Great job :-D

Great goals and nice job on the Bloggiesta!

Congrats! You got so much accomplished and did a terrific job! I really need to participate in this. I have been trying to get some cleaning up done on my blog now that the holidays are over. Now I just need to do that for my house! :)

You were fabulously productive for Bloggiesta! As you can see I’m just now catching up on my feed reader so I didn’t really accomplish all I’d set out to do during my own Bloggiesta. Congratus on a successful weekend :)

Sorry I’m late Debbie in coming over in saying thanks for joining the Bloggiesta. I’m glad that you got so much done!
