Description from Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s-and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he’s out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and now he is hunting her. And this time he won’t rest until Rose joins him… forever.

If you have been following my blog you know I am a huge Vampire Academy fan.  I have high hopes that somehow Rose and Dmitri will end up together so imagine my excitement when Rose learns there might be a way to bring Dmitri back from being a Strigoi.  This book didn’t disappoint although it is not my favorite of the series.  The action ratchets down compared to Blood Promise but we start seeing more set up of intrigues to come.  Mead keeps you guessing about the Queen’s real motives and how she really views Rose and whether Rose will end up with Adrian or Dmitri.  I love all the new sides you see of each character.  Lissa grows more of a spine, Dmitri shows a more fragile side, the Queen may actually not be as bad as she seemed or may be worse than we thought and Adrian just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter.  I think any fan of this series will not be disappointed other than having to wait for the next book to see what happens next.

This is one of my all-time very favorite series!!! Richelle is the QUEEN of cliffhangers…and she does it yet again in this book! I totally agree with you in that I loved seeing the different sides to each character. It makes them so much more dynamic! Although, I still don’t know if to trust Abe or not.

I do have one problem though. As much as I love Dimitri, Adrian is really winning me over!! He was still the same fun-loving, carefree Adrian but you see such a sweet, loving side to him and it started to annoy me that Rose was so hung up on Dimitri. I would be happy for Rose & Dimitri to end up together, but I still want Adrian to find his HEA with Rose too (dammit, I hate being torn between two men! lol)

I’m so sad that there’s only one book left in the series :(

I really need to make time for this.

Reading this definitely does make the wait until December seem veeeery long.

I am VERY jealous that you’re reading The Passage right now!!

Isalys-I know! Adrian is such a sweetheart that I hate to see his heart broken. I wish he could find someone else to fall in love with. It almost seems like even if he does get Rose he will always be a second choice which doesn’t seem fair to him.

Pam-yes you do! Although I’m sure once your BEA box comes in you will have a lot of competing choices :)

Allison-I am so glad the last book is out this year and we don’t have to wait until mid next year. Finally finished The Passage but for some reason having writer’s block writing the review.
