I know we all get busy and sometimes just have to hit the “Mark All As Read” button(at least I hope it’s not just me!)  So here is a little summary of things that have caught my eye around the interweb and what has been going on here and on my other blog, Munchkin’s Book Journey.

Other News

  • The Cybils judging panels were announced and two of my favorite bloggers made the panels.  Michelle from GalleySmith will be judging round II of the young adult category and Danielle from There’s a Book will be judging round II of the fiction picture book category.
  • The Fall: Book 2 The Strain Trilogy by Chuck Hogan & Guillermo Del Toro was released on September 21
  • It was also big news among readers about Wes Scroggins describing Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson as pornographic and the title of the book Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler as promiscuous.  Obviously he has issues.  You can read more over at Bookalicious and see a list of posts for bloggers who wrote up Speak Loudly posts.Peirce was announced as director for the movie based
  • HarperTeen is asking you to help choose the name of their new website for teens.  Go HarperTeen’s survey to be heard.
  • Kimberly Peirce was named as director for the Wicked Lovely movie based on Melissa Marr’s series.   Read more here.
  • Ralph Winter and Terry Botwick acquired movie rights to The Dark Divine by Bree Despain.  Check out her big announcement here.

    You had a great week!

    Thanks for the shout out. I’m so excited to have been asked to serve on the Cybils. I was really not expecting to be given how large the response to participate had been. I heard there were about 90ish applicants for the 12 YA spots. Amazing! I can’t wait to see what gets nominated and what comes through to the judges.
