Cover Love, Can It Get Any Better?

March 11th, 2011 by Debbie's World of Books

So I normally don’t do  cover love posts but lately there have been some amazing covers so I cannot resist.  Check out some of my favorites:

The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegen

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Vanish by Sophie Jordan

Lost in Time by Melissa de la Cruz

There was one more cover reveal that I wanted to love because I loved the cover of Matched but the cover of Crossed by Ally Condie just didn’t grab me as much.  The model’s body language just didn’t fit to me with her trying to break out.  The foot stepping out gingerly combined with the fist punching out just didn’t work.  I must say I love the blue theme though.  What do you think?

Edited to add the paperback cover of Nightshade by Andrea Cremer.

I personally prefer the hardback cover. This one was a little blah.  She also reveals the new cover for Wolfsbane.

I agree with you on the Crossed cover. I personally think it would have looked neater if played more off the first one with her sitting in the bubble still but pushing up and breaking the top.
It may have been better if, like you said, they didn’t do the whole foot thing.

There are too many lovely covers being released lately! I especially love the ones for The Mephisto Covenant, The Pledge, and Vanish. I agree about the cover model for Crossed looking awkward too. Her pose looks super uncomfortable.

I like the original covers of Nightshade and Wolfsbane better. I’m excited to see the next Jordan book though!

Yeah, something about the model’s pose for Crossed is definitely awkward…somehow her arm and leg seem a bit unnaturally long or something. I do love the blue though!

Not thrilled about the new Nightshade/Wolfsbane covers (the old ones were so much more eye-catching and vibrant!) but I am definitely liking The Pledge cover.

I think my favorite may be the cover for The Pledge. Love it!

I am partial to my original Nightshade but I do like the Wolfsbane. All these covers are gorgeous.
