Top Ten Tuesday: Summer TBR List

June 18th, 2012 by Debbie's World of Books

Top Ten Tuesday

It’s time for another of those Top Ten Seasonal Lists, this time we’re talking books you have on your Summer TBR lists! As always, it can be either books you’re dying to read now it’s starting to get warm or anticipated new releases.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish

Not all my picks are new or upcoming releases.  I’m really hoping to attack my books that must be read in 2012 shelf along with the newer books.

1. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Everyone I know raves about Outlander and it’s sat on my shelf for years.

2. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

Another series that everyone I know says I will love.

3. Samurai Game by Christine Feehan

Samurai Game is book 10 in the Ghostwalker series which I loved.  The last few have been a little disappointing but hope this one picks back up.  It’s due out July 3, 2012.

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas reminds me of Maria V. Snyder’s Study series which I started this year and am really enjoying.  This one is due out August 7, 2012.

5. Shine by Lauren Myracle

I’m taking a class about young adult materials in libraries for my post-MLIS certificate and Shine by Lauren Myracle was mentioned several times so I want to check it out.

6. Rifty by Andrea Cremer

I loved Nightshade (I <3 Ren!!) and Rift by Andrea Cremer is the prequel to Nightshade and sounds amazing. It’s due out August 7, 2012.

7. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo is another book sitting on my shelf that everyone I know is raving about.

8. This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers

I’m a sucker for a good zombie read and This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers has been getting great reviews.

9. What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang

What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang is pushing the summer envelope as it’s due out September 18 but I can wish that I get to read it sooner. Otherwise I’ll have to order this one asap as it sounds really good.

10. How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff

How I Live Now has been on my shelves for a long time and I recently saw it mentioned while doing some reading for my YA class so it’s moving up on my TBR list.

Have you read any of these?  Any favorites?  What’s on your summer reads list?

I really enjoyed Shine. Actually, that’s not really fair since it’s not a book to “enjoy” exactly, but I did like it even though it was dark.

  4. Kailana

I really liked Outlander and How I Live Now. Several of those I want to read myself!

  5. April Books & Wine

I’ve read several of these and all of the ones that i have read a definitely worth a spot on your summer TBR list. I think you’ll really enjoy Shadow & Bone. I also think you’ll love Outlander!
