Top Ten Tuesday

This week’s topic is: Top Ten Favorite Books You’ve Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish

Since I started blogging and following other book blogs I’ve found some amazing books so here are some of my favorite finds.

1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: This has become one of my favorite series and to be honest I was not a huge fan of the cover and would never have picked it up if not for reading about it on several blogs.

2. The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro & Chuck Hogan

The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan: This was an awesome book that was another book that I would not necessarily have picked it up if I hadn’t received it for review.  For those looking for a little horror and thriller this is a must read.

3. Wild Highland Magic by Kendra Leigh Castle

Wild Highland Magic by Kendra Castle: This is a magical romance story that is another book I probably would not have found if I hadn’t been contacted to review it.  Loved it!

4. Willow by Julia Hoban

Willow by Julia Hoban: This is a YA novel about a heartbreaking topic of a girl who cuts herself in order to cope with her guilt and sorrow over her parents deaths in a car crash in which she was at the wheel of the car.

5. The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale

The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale: This book cracked me up and I was laughing out loud reading it.

6. The Darcys & the Bingleys by Marsha Altman

The Darcys and the Bingleys by Marsha Altman: Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books and before book blogging I never knew they did these off shoots from the original.  This was one of my favorites that I stumbled across on the awesome J. Kaye’s Book Blog which unfortunately is no longer around. :(

7. Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer: this young adult novel knocked my socks off. I’ve always had this fascination with post apocalyptic and survival stories and this is an amazing one.  It seriously had me wanting to run out and stock up on food, water and other survival gear.

8. Hate List by Jennifer Brown

Hate List by Jennifer Brown: This young adult book was both mind blowing and a tear jerker.  One of the few 5 star books I’ve read.

9. If I Stay by Gayle Forman

If I Stay by Gayle Forman: another young adult tear jerker that is a must read.

10. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: This is a no brainer. It was such an awesome book and amazingly it wasn’t on a blog that I found out about it.  I just happen to stumble across it in the book store.  Best random bookstore find ever!

You might have noticed these are all older books. I’ve read some amazing ones recently like Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, Everneath by Brodi Ashton, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas and more but I like to look back at my older reads to see which ones have still stayed with me.

  1. Mary-Sweet Bookshelf

The Actor and the Housewife is the ONLY Shannon Hale I’ve not read. I think I need to rectify this immediately.

  2. Nina

If I Stay was indeed very good. I cried near the end of the book, so so good. I haven’t read the second book and I’m not sure if I’m going too. I should read the Hunger Games Trilogy. Everyone seems to adore the books and I do adore the movie. :) Yes, I watched it, before I read the book. Shame on me! LOL.

  3. April Books & Wine

Oh my goodness so many books that I absolutely love on your list — like Vampire Academy that is one of my favorite series EVER. And If I Stay made me sob buckets.

    Great list! :-)

  4. Karis (YA Litwit)

Life As We Knew It and If I Stay are two of my all-time favorites! Great list!

I love your header. I enjoyed Hate List.

  6. Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know

LOVE Vampire Academy and Richelle Mead. I would have added it, but I read them all before I started blogging.

I did have The Hunger Games on my list though.

Check out my TTT if you have time.

Mary-it was my only Shannon Hale book but I loved it!

Nina-I didn’t care for Where She Went as much as If I Stay.

April-I know! I cried so much!

    Thanks Marce.
