Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

Source: Purchased myself

Publication date: March 6, 2007

Publisher: Berkley Sensation

Series: Psy-Changeling #2

Summary from Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous-aching need . . . exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.

Changeling Vaughn D’Angelo can take either man or jaguar form, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar’s instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith’s sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced – and keep her from Vaughn…

If you read my review of Slave to Sensation then you know how much I adored it and became a huge fan of the Psy-Changeling series.  As soon as I finished Slave to Sensation I picked up Visions of Heat and it definitely did not disappoint.

Faith Nightstar was a very different heroine from Sascha but she still grabbed my heart and Vaughn was smoking hot as well.  Lucas is still my favorite but Vaughn gave him a run for his money.  The story itself continues to get more complex and fascinating.  The political intrigues will keep readers on their toes and wonder who can the Changelings truly trust.

I finished this book in a day as well and it was killing me that I didn’t have the next book and my library didn’t have it either.  Times like this really makes me miss having a bookstore down the road (or even in the same town!).
