Summary from The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California – and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

Cynthia Hand never ceases to amaze me with her wonderful books.  While I have my favorite series it’s rare that any of the authors manage to make every single book in the series as wonderful as the previous one.  If you read my reviews of Unearthly and Hallowed then you realize that Cynthia comes pretty darn close.  I thought all three books were fabulous and left with me a happy sign at the end.

Boundless picks up as Clara, Christian and Angela are starting their college lives at Stanford hoping for at least a semblance of normalcy.  Of course that is not about to happen and all three have visions that they must figure out before it’s too late.

From the start I was a huge Tucker fan and was bummed when I realized they were at Stanford while Tucker was back home.  However, never fear Tucker fans!  He is still an integral part of Boundless as Clara still struggles with the decision she made at the end of Hallowed.

The other character I found myself drawn to was Samjeeza.  Yes, he is a fallen angel and all that but his love for Clara’s mom really made me feel sorry for him.  He ends up playing a critical role in Boundless as well so I was glad to see more of him.

The main reason why I couldn’t give Boundless a full five stars was because of Jeffrey’s part in the story.  Everything else was so well laid out and tied up nicely except for his role.  Maybe I missed it in my excitement to finish this series but I never really got what his visions were meant to be.  Did he complete them, fail at them, etc.  He had all this bottled up anger and resentment that is never dealt with as well.  Perhaps it’s setting up for a story of his own?

But all in all a wonderful book to end a wonderful series.
