Series: Psy-Changeling #3

Rating: ★★★★☆

Summary from As an Arrow, an elite soldier in the Psy Council ranks, Judd Lauren was forced to do terrible things in the name of his people. Now he is a defector, and his dark abilities have made him the most deadly of assassins – cold, pitiless, unfeeling. Until he meets Brenna…

Brenna Shane Kincaid was an innocent before she was abducted – and had her mind violated – by a serial killer. Her sense of evil runs so deep, she fears she could become a killer herself. Then the first dead body is found, victim of a familiar madness. Judd is her only hope, yet her sensual changeling side rebels against the inhuman chill of his personality, even as desire explodes between them. Shocking and raw, their passion is a danger that threatens not only their hearts, but their very lives…

First off I’m glad I didn’t have to judge this book based off the cover because I really can’t stand it.  BUT this is a case where it is so true you can’t judge a book by its cover because I loved it.  Judd comes off as such a cool, emotionless, perfect Psy soldier when we first meet him so I wasn’t too excited to get to his story but wow.  I am a big Judd fan now.  His Psy abilities were amazing and it was interesting to see more of how Silence could be viewed as a good thing to at least some Psy even though it sounds like a horrible idea overall.  The gray area really makes you think about what some of these people would have to go through if Silence breaks.

Brenna’s character broke my heart seeing what she went through at the hands of Santiago and I am so glad she got her HEA.  The chemistry between she and Judd is sizzling and I love the scenes with flying and breaking furniture (you will have to read the book to find out the details behind this). :)

I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before but this is quickly becoming one of my favorite series!

I have to agree about this cover, not loving it. But it sounds great!
